days off were so rare for bunny that she had to use them to shop. after all, she got to relax every night that she got home for about two hours. bunny woke up that tuesday morning in a super happy mood. she yawned and finally got out of bed after about ten minutes of just laying there. most mornings, she really didn't want to get up at all. but today she'd have to actually do something productive. bunny took a shower and then got dressed into something she had been meaning to wear for a while now - a red summer dress with a grey cardigan. her makeup was simple, but a little more than normal. she sighed a bit as she looked at herself in the mirror, deciding to straighten her curly hair instead of leaving it natural like she usually would. sometimes it was nice to dress up. it took her about half an hour to straighten her hair, but it was worth it. she finally slipped on a pair of flats and made her way out the door. it was warm enough outside, but a little bit cold, and it wasn't all that great for her. she hated being cold. bunny continued walking along the streets of dallas until she found her way to the mall. finally.
bunny walked in with a smile upon her face, waving at some people she knew. she knew a lot of people in dallas because of her job, and sometimes it was bad. somehow, they always seemed to see her somewhere, make her stop and chat. but all she wanted to do was be by herself and shop. she entered a couple of stores, using her paycheck from last month to buy new clothes and shoes and anything else she needed. and then she found her favorite store - the music store. it had everything she ever dreamed of having. more guitars than she thought possible, was pretty much it. she quickly got in the store and sat down in the seat where her favorite guitar was. she had been saving up for the last two years for this guitar, and someday, she'd be able to get it.
bunny sighed softly, beginning to strum on the guitar and look down at the strings. this was her dream. she could live it for an hour.

WORDS: LAZY TAGGED: BUNNY/BRIE NOTES: SORRY IF THIS IS A TOTAL FAIL, I WAS LIKE HALF ASLEEP. D: for eli, this is pretty much how it all started. just a humble music shop. there was nothing particularly impressive, nothing that really stood out, but it was charming nonetheless. sure, he couldn't be one to talk, for the one that sparked it for him was a little place in wisconsin, where it probably was, genuinely, the only place you could go for anything remotely musical for miles around, but still, it brought back memories. he was only a child - no more than five years old - when he saw his first guitar, and feel head-over-heels in love. he remembers staring at it up on the wall with that childlike awe, completely and utterly amazed, before a man came up and removed it. he knows that after that he practically clung to the stranger, who, to his relief didn't take the instrument away, but instead sat himself in a chair and just started to play: an improvisational blues piece, and he'd be inspired ever since. he'd taken it a lot further than anyone ever expected him to, for his family, even though they were supportive of pretty much anything he did with his music, thought that he was going to grow out of it in time, but he never did. so, eighteen years later, here he was. in dallas, trying to make a name for himself. it wasn't easy, but then again, he hadn't expected it to be. besides, there weren't many who gave his music a chance, especially if they knew the genre before he began to play. there were the groups that appreciated music, the ones who understood it, or just were open-minded enough to stick around and actually learn that it wasn't really that bad. but, he'd learned long ago that the open-minded ones were hard to come by. oh well.
the mall wasn't the most popular place for someone like him, but he made an exception for it today, for a little instrument-browsing never hurt anybody, even if he already had plenty of guitars, and couldn't afford another. besides, who knew what kind of talent you could find sitting around in a music store? he knew all too well that anything could happen, including inspiration. so, having already gone though all the records that had caught his eye, and finding none that he didn't either already have or need, he moved onto the guitars. there was something that always caught his eye there, because he usually found them all pretty fascinating. he would toy with them briefly, but not usually actually take one down to test it out, because then he might fall in love, and that was never a good thing when you didn't have any spare money to spend.
his fascination was torn away, however, upon the sound of a light strumming in the background. eli turned, his eyes falling on a blonde woman, the instrument in her hands. he studied her for a moment, then the guitar, and quickly came upon the decision to go up to her. he'd always found musicians so much more approachable than other people - even though it never really stopped him either way - because that was he was sure they already had something in common. "that's a nice instrument you got there." he announced, a light smirk at his lips. they can never quite see |
